piano course for singer

The piano keyboard layout consists of white and black keys. Each key represents a different musical note. Here’s a brief overview:

White Keys

  • Represent the natural notes (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) and are arranged in a repeating pattern.

Black Keys

  • Represent the sharps (#) and flats (b) and are grouped in sets of twos and threes.

The pattern of keys repeats across the keyboard, and each repetition is called an “octave.” The note names start again at “C” after each octave. Singers often use the piano keyboard to find their starting note or practice scales.
