Keyboard course from scatch

Great posture is key to comfortable and effective piano practice! Here are some tips:

Sitting Position:

  1. Seat Height: Your seat should be at a height where your elbows are at the same level as the keys or slightly higher.

  2. Feet Position: Keep your feet flat on the floor. If your feet don’t reach the floor, use a footstool.

  3. Distance from Keyboard: Sit far enough so that your arms form a natural angle at the elbow (about a 90-degree angle) but not so far that you have to stretch to reach the keys.

Standing Position (for keyboard players):

  1. Height: Set the keyboard stand so that the keys are at or just below elbow height.

  2. Feet Position: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, distributing your weight evenly.

  3. Back and Shoulders: Keep your back straight and shoulders relaxed to avoid strain.

Hand Position:

  1. Curved Fingers: Your fingers should be naturally curved and relaxed, not flat or overly arched.

  2. Thumb Position: Place your thumbs slightly to the side, not under your fingers or sticking out.

  3. Wrist Height: Keep your wrists level with the keyboard, not too high or too low.

  4. Relaxation: Maintain relaxed hands and fingers to prevent tension and fatigue.

General Tips:

  • Avoid Tension: Keep your shoulders relaxed and avoid hunching.

  • Regular Breaks: Take frequent breaks to stretch and relax your muscles.

  • Adjustable Seating: If possible, use an adjustable bench or chair to find the most comfortable and ergonomic position.

Following these guidelines can help you play more comfortably and efficiently, reducing the risk of injury. Happy playing!
